If we charge by the hour

Published hourly rates

Almost all of our immigration work is charged at a fixed fee. Where we agree instead that work will be charged by the hour, these are our rates. They also apply where we calculate a charge for work already carried out if you end an agreement early.

  • Time is recorded in units of one tenth of an hour.
  • There is no separate charge for solicitor supervision.
  • We review rates once a year and tell you in writing before any increase.

VAT

Whether VAT appliesdepends on where you live

This is a rule about the place of supply of legal services, not a discount or an exemption — so the same application can cost different amounts for different clients. If no UK VAT applies, you pay the “our fee” figure and nothing more.

What our fee covers

Everything a standardapplication needs

  1. Initial assessment

Reviewing your circumstances and confirming which route applies and whether you meet the requirements.

  2. Document review

Checking your evidence against Home Office requirements and telling you what is missing.

  3. Preparing the application

Completing the application form and preparing any supporting representations.

  4. Submission

Submitting the application and arranging your biometrics appointment.

  5. Home Office correspondence

Responding on your behalf to any queries before a decision.

  6. The decision

Advising you on the decision when it is received.

Once we have reviewed your documents, we also give you a written assessment of your prospects of success, including any weaknesses.

Not included in our fee

  • Any appeal, administrative review or judicial review following a refusal
  • Any separate application for a dependant not named in your quote
  • Any application for British citizenship or naturalisation
  • Advice on tax, or on the law of any country other than England and Wales
  • Home Office fees, the Immigration Health Surcharge and other disbursements

If you need any of these, we give you a separate written quote first.

Disbursements

Government fees, paid on your behalf

Disbursements are payments we make to others on your behalf, in addition to our fees. Home Office fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge are set by the Government, not by us.

DisbursementAmount

The amount you pay is the amount in force on the day your application is submitted. Figures shown are those in force from 8 April 2026 and are due for review by 1 April 2027.

The small print

These are “from” prices
Where a matter is more complex — for example a previous refusal, a criminal record, a gap in immigration history or an unusual financial position — we tell you before we start and agree a different fee in writing.
If you end the agreement early
You pay for the work already done as a proportion of your agreed fee, and never more than that proportion. The charge for opening your file and completing identity checks is limited to £200 for each applicant. Once the work is complete, no refund is due.
Who handles your matter
Your day-to-day contact may be a solicitor or a paralegal caseworker. Your Client Care Letter tells you who is handling your matter and which solicitor supervises them.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service or our charges, our complaints service is free.
